CANINE MISSING LINK TIPS 'N' TRICKS . . .

Because people feed their canine companions in a number of different ways ranging from dry food or canned food to home cooked menus, it was difficult to include feeding instructions for each individual situation on our label.

Some dogs (just like people) are very particular and selective when it comes to changes made to their diets.  The following are some tips and little "tricks" that can be used to entice your pet into trying The Missing Link.

Dry Food

  • If you're using dry food, lightly "mist" the dry food first with a spray of plain water.
  • Then sprinkle on The Missing Link powder.
  • The moisture from the water will help to make the powder stick to the dry food.

Dogs don't seem to notice the change you've made to their diet quite as much when it has been disguised this way, and misting first will not make the powder too moist.

Moist Canned Food

  • With moist/wet canned food, make a "gravy."
  • Pour the "juice" from a can of wet food into your dog's bowl.
  • Add the dosage of The Missing Link to the juice.
  • Stir well to form a "gravy" mixture, dissolving The Missing Link powder into the juice.
  • Add the can of wet food and stir the food into the gravy mixture.

Most dogs usually love the taste of The Missing Link, but if your canine friend is a fussy eater and doesn't like the taste, you may want to try this little hint created by one of our sales representatives.  He has used this "trick" on his own dogs, and we've shared this tip with several customers who have reported great results and success at getting their dogs to try their Missing Link.

  • Measure out the daily portion of The Missing Link powder into the palm of your hand.
(Your dog should get from one to six teaspoons depending on his/her body weight.)
  • Add just a drop or two of water to the powder - enough to form a very thick paste.
  • Roll the paste into a ball.
  • Feed it to your canine companion just like a doggie "treat."

Please remember to start your dog off on The Missing Link formula slowly.  Because of the high fiber content, start with small amounts and gradually increase the daily intake to the recommended level over the course of a week or two.  This will allow your dog's system time to adjust to the increased fiber in his/her diet.
