General: The liver stores vitamins and minerals for the body. It is an excellent source of iron, vitamins A and B, folic acid, pantholenic acid, and several other B vitamins. It is a good source of essential amino acids, including methionine and taurine. Studies show that diets high in methionine might help to prevent kidney stone formation.
