THE MISSING LINK HELPS THE RARE BLACK RHINO

Designing Health is proud to provide the following abstract of a study conducted by
Dr. William Kirk Suedmeyer and Dr. Ellen S. Dierenfeld on fatty acid supplementation of black rhinoceros.  This paper was presented by Dr. Suedmeyer at the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians (AAZV) Annual Meeting at Omaha, Nebraska.

As noted in the study abstract, the health of both humans and animals are subject to abnormalities when linoleic (omega 6) and linolenic (omega 3) fatty acids are out of balance.  In lieu of the imported Zimbabwaen browse preferred by the animals, five black rhinoceros were supplemented with The Missing Link® on a daily basis with the expectation that the dietary ratios of fatty acids would be normalized.  After approximately four months, pre-supplementation levels were compared to levels after supplementation.  In each case, fatty acid ratios "improved."

Our equine product, The Missing Link® Equine Formula, was supplied to the Kansas City Zoological Gardens for the study. Designing Health is glad to have played a role in the health of these rare animals, just as it does for hundreds of thousands of performance and companions animals every day.
