CHONDROITIN - Not in the Missing Link
Q. - Why is it that your products with Glucosamine do not include Chondroitin as well?
A. - The reasons are as follows:
- The essential fatty acids (EFA's) in our products with their anti-inflammatory properties already support joint health. The combination of EFA's and glucosamine provides the ultimate in joint support.
- The glucosamine in The Missing Link Canine PLUS and Equine PLUS Formulas is vegetarian - sourced from a company located in the United States - not from "Chitin" (shellfish, crustacean shells, often produced in China).
- We are aware that products with both glucosamine and chondroitin are very popular in the supplement industry. However, our first concern is the effectiveness and quality of the products that we manufacture. In order to add such ”trendy” ingredients to our products, we would have to reduce the amounts of other ingredients in our formulas that we consider to be more beneficial.
- Chondroitin is a long chain of glucosamine molecules that the body cannot completely utilize. Often, it is eliminated in urine. The current source of chondroitin is bovine tracheas, which raises concerns of “mad cow disease” - BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy).
