BEEF LIVER and FISH PROTEIN - For the birds

Q.  -  Why do you have beef liver and fish protein in the Missing Link Avian supplement?

A.  -  The major source of nutrition for domestic birds is a diet high in carbohydrates.  These seed diets often contain higher amounts of saturated fats, and they have low nutritional values.  This improper nutrition can cause feather picking, biting, and eventually immune system failure.

  • In the wild, birds eat insects, worms, bugs, etc., for protein.
  • Proteins are important for tissue repairs, bones, muscles, skin, feathers, and internal organs.
  • Inadequate quantity and quality of protein results in classic signs of protein deficiency (poor muscle development, water retention, a suppressed immune system, and lack of energy).
  • This is one of the main reasons why we formulated the Missing Link Avian Formula not only with an animal source of proteins (beef liver and fish protein), but also a vegetarian source (soy).
